The Dove

The feeling of your hand in mine
Seeing the smile on your face
Making love regardless of time
Then waking in your embrace.
The touch of my lips to yours
Gentle, filled with love
But when it rains, it pours
Just to kill a Dove.

Worlds collide as I am empty
Your warmth is gone from me
To end it all is tempting
Throw myself into the sea
The sea would welcome me
Just as you once did
Would wrap it's arms about me
A farewell for you to bid
You shed a tear for me
And curse the gods of love
Your pain opens the sea
And from it flies a Dove.
